Choosing a Website Development Package
In order to make things easier on most people, website packages are divided
into Introduction Sites (IS) and Power Sites
(PS), and Total Environment Sites (TES). Each of these
levels have a different pricing structure and can vary in price based on
which additional packages are added. ( See Below )
Introduction Sites (IS -
$ 600.00) usually have up to 4 web pages of text, scanned-in graphics,
logos, and custom headers and titles combined into a web site that gives
your company a store front on the net. With this package you’re usually
entitled to 3 hours of site design consultation with a design team. With
this package, you’re "open for business on the net." With
a Power Site (PS - $ 2500.00)you can form a more complex and integrated
web site. Up to 12 web pages that can include scanned-in logos, custom design
buttons, backgrounds, a hit counter to keep track of traffic, and a very
useful E-mail form that will give you feedback on who goes through your
site. Your site will be published on various search engines so that Internet
surfers will find it when they’re looking for what you have to offer.
You are entitled to 6 hours of design consultation with a design team.
The Total Environment Site (TES - Starting at $10,000.00)
is for the company that is prepared to make a serious commitment to
the World Wide Web as a long term medium for promoting their product or
service. TES is for the pioneers in the digital medium who are leading the
way in developing and maintaining serious client relationships in cyberspace.
Our TES level clients fully integrate their existing business systems into
a combination of Internet and Intranet applications. TES service utilizes
a full time account executive to develop and implement the unified vision
of the Laykin.Com Design/Marketing team with the clients long term objectives
while maintaining a controlled "phase in" approach to seemlessly
blend with existing market conditions. TES Service embodies all of the below
packages combined with a commitment to new and developing technologies that
are not commercially available.
Choosing a Domain Name
In order for your new worldwide audience to be able to reach you, you need
to choose a name or address for your website. This is called a Domain Name,
which is something similar to a mailing address or a telephone number. There
is an entity on the Internet, the InterNIC, which is in charge of registering
and maintaining all the Domain Names.
Domain Names are in the format http://www.mycompanyaddress.com.
You can also choose to locate your site at the Laykin Domain. In this case
your address will appear as: http://www.laykin.com/mycompanyname.
When choosing a Domain Name, we will perform a search in
order to see if that name has been registered already and belongs to someone
else. If that is the case, and you have a trademark on the name you want
to register, you have a valid claim to that name. The process of registering
a new Domain Name takes about 1-2 weeks.
Enhancing Your Site with Prepackaged Features
Enhancement Packages are add-ons to your Introduction or Power Site. These
add-ons are customized packages that enhance your site according to your
needs. They are not set in stone, though, they are packaged for your convenience.
This way, if you want your site to look have an added customized flare,
you can add the Site Presentation Enhancement Package (SEP) or the Multimedia
Enhancement Package (MEP) to your Introductory or Power Site. Or, in
case you're not interested in "looks", but in commercial functionality
or Intranets, you can choose to add the Commerce Enhancement Package
(CEP) and/or Privacy Enhancement Package (PEP) to your Basic
Website.
The following are more detailed descriptions
of what an Enhancement Package can do for your Website:
Site Presentation Enhancement: (SEP - Starting at $
1200.00) Add animated LED signs, 3D graphics, extra
logos, and convert your site to frames for more user friendly navigation.
Optionally, you can also add: Animated Graphics, JavaScripts, Java Applets,
and Custom Logos.
Multimedia Enhancement:(MEP - Starting at $ 1500.00) Add video clips
and sound effects to your site. Also available: Live Teleconferencing, Video
Streaming, Real Audio, GIF Animation, Shockwave Animation, constantly refreshing
cameras, and VRML (Virtual Reality).
Privacy Enhancement: (PEP - Starting at $ 300.00) Restrict access
to certain parts of your website; for your employees, customers, or any
person you choose.
Chat Areas: Bulletin Board Areas for personal or professional use within
your business or worldwide.
Commerce Enhancement:(CEP - Starting at $ 1200.00) Are you ready
to do serious business on the net? Well, here’s your opportunity. Plug
in this commerce package to your website and allow customers to search product
or item databases, retrieve information, online ordering, and even better,
allow them to place orders with their credit cards, use cybercash or write
checks online thanks to your very own secure encrypted environment.
Deluxe Commerce Enhancement: (DCP - Starting at $1800.00) This is
the ultimate in Internet business. An online catalog and a shopping cart
program allows your customers (and the rest of the world) to browse and
shop your products electronically as if they were in a mall. They’ll
be able to add and delete items from a virtual shopping cart, and then check
out the items. At checkout, all items will be automatically added up, sales
tax will be included, and shipping and charge information filled out. You
get the order seconds later at your home or office.

Promoting & Marketing Your Website
In order for your website to perform, you need to have a large number of
people look at it. Whether you’re trying to generate money from your
site or if you just want people to look at your happy face on your personal
home page, traffic is important.
People on the Internet don’t just run into what they’re
looking for. They search for the information or places that they are looking
for. They do this by going to search engines and making a keyword search.
For example, if you need airline tickets, you would search for "airlines",
"tickets", "airfares", or a combination of these or
more keywords.
After we develop and implement your website on the World
Wide Web, we encourage you to implement one of our Marketing programs to
advertise your URL (Universal Resource Locator) Bringing traffic

Marketing are available through Laykin.Com with a minimum contract of six
months:
Basic Web Marketing: (BWM - $150.00 per month) We will publish your site in the best known 15 search engines
on the Internet and seek free cross promotional opportunities for your site
on a monthly basis.
Massive Web Marketing: (MWM - $ 500.00 per month) In addition to
publishing your site on the 15 best known search engines, we add an additional
200 Search Engines to the monthly push. Your account executive will design
and implement a monthly Internet advertising campaign which will fit your
budget, broken down as follows:
Trade Advertising: We will find websites that are related content-wise
to your website, and we will make arrangements for cross-linking websites.
Banner Advertising:We will buy advertising space on other websites
and place an animated banner featuring a direct link to your site.
Robot Listings: There are certain sites on the Web that have lists
of websites, along with descriptions, and in some cases, even ratings. Obviously,
the higher rated ones will enjoy a very good position on the page. As part
of this package, we will add your site to some of these listings and make
sure that you start off with a good average "grade."
Solid Traffic Marketing: (STM - $ 1150.00 per month) This package
will give you the benefits of both the Basic Web Marketing and Massive Web
