Laykin et Cie experienced great creative expansion and commercial success in Hollywood and more broadly Los Angeles of the 1930s - 1950s. Intertwined with the film industry and it's notables, the clientele was a veritable who's who.
From producers like Orson Wells and Daryll Zanuck to actors such as Edward G. Robinson, Constance Bennett, Norma Talmadge, Claire Trevor, Lana Turner and Jimmy Stewart; the firms commercial and social engagement was in large measure one with Hollywood. As a result many films produced during the period included Laykin jewels in the production.
Of these films several were in the film noir category. Jewels included or inspired by this era; we call Jewels Noir. They are sometimes bold, sometimes whimsical and always unique and ready for the silver screen.

Designed in 1939 by Laykin et Cie in Hollywood the "Criss Cross" ring has long been considered one of the most provocative designs. Composed of 18KT yellow gold the eternal loop twists around itself in masculine and feminine expressions. One curve captured in perfect pave diamonds embracing it's partner curve in solid gold. Scallop de Compostela

Visit product page →Clean and striking, these beautiful ear clips were designed by Laykin et Cie in the 1940's and evoke the Scallop shells traditionally collected by pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago who make their way from France and elsewhere to the Saint James shrine at Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.
The ear clips have been reintroduced in their original form for the 2018 collection and can be owned with calibre rubies, sapphires, emeralds, onyx or diamonds. Set in 18kt yellow gold with .30cts of diamonds.

This classic brooch featuring a Greek key design in a lovely representation of late Edwardian design was produced by the pre-curser to Laykin et Cie, the Laykin Diamond Company in the 1920's in Los Angeles. Wrought of Platinum and Diamonds it creates a dramatic statement when adorning a lovely structured dress on the shoulder or base of the breast.
