Throughout the 1930's Laykin et Cie produced a variety of ring designs in platinum and diamond which relied on structural and architectural influences which expressed the minimalist movement, the Art Modern and Deco ethos and other emerging and experimental design themes which were having an impact on everything from product and graphic design to fashion and the fine arts.
This platinum and diamond ladies ring is bold in it's expression and combines both the rigid structural massifs surrounding the channel set hand-cut diamond baguettes with the slight bow flourishes on it's sides and shoulders set in pave diamonds. Not for the dainty. This ring strikes hard and is raised in world of black and white film; top hats and Mies van der Rohe.
